Gocompare.com: Rejuvenating the conversation around Gio
January 2013: We started the year as we mean to go on with 58 pieces of coverage on the launch day of the new Gocompare.com ad, starring Professor Stephen Hawking.
The ad, which sees Hawking put his mind-boggling black hole theories to use by ‘Saving The Nation’ from the UK’s most annoying tenor Gio Compario, was launched via a series of media and blogger exclusives and a social media campaign that reached over 300m people on New Year’s day.
Sony: leading the conversation at CES
3 days, 264 pieces of UK coverage including 32 nationals, a feature on ITV’s This Morning and an OTS of 586,189,599. This was the launch of the Sony Xperia Z at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
Citizen had a team onsite in Vegas hosting journalists, facilitating interviews and conducting hands-on briefings, whilst the team back home helped the Xperia Z win two awards (the ‘Hot Stuff’ award from Stuff and ‘Best Mobile Phone’ from TechRadar) and become a finalist for CNET’s ‘Best of CES’ awards.
With accolades such as ‘the iPhone 5 rival’ and ‘a Samsung Galaxy SIII challenger’ attributed by the likes of The Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Sun and The Daily Mail, Citizen helped position the Xperia Z as one of the most exciting
smartphones for 2013.
